Missing parts with no help from kitchenaid

FYI... BUYERS Beware, ordered this hood to match the other 5 kitchenaid appliances we installed into our remodeled kitchen. The others went smooth for the most part outside of having to wait for our 3rd dishwasher due to receiving damaged good.... The hood came missing two screws and she I call kitchenaid they were of no help.... needless to say I'm regretting my decision at this point to even go with kitchen aid. Sad sad customer service all because I bought my appliances through Home Depot.

Will not last

Installed as part of a remodel to all KitchenAid. Every so often, when the light was turned on, the fan came on also. Annoying, but not a constant problem until today. It's been in for 2 years so of course the warranty has expired. Today I walked into the kitchen to hear a buzzing sound. Any attempt to turn on any controls resulted in the buzzing getting louder and non of the controls worked properly. So after disconnecting power, I troubleshoot. I find a relay is shorting on the circuit panel. I look online for a replacement and oh it is $300. Thanks for making such a nice wall ornament! It will get fixed or replaced, and I will think thrice before I buy another . For the price it should not be so cheaply made.

Died after 1 month of use.

I purchased this unit for my new home. One day the breaker tripped and the unit turned off. After flipping the breaker back on the unit went haywire. All on it's own randomly switching fan speeds flashing the lights on and off, power down, turning back on. Now it's stuck on low and non-responsive. For such and expensive hood vent this should NOT happen. Now I have to figure out who will replace this and install it, which was the worst part because the black stainless chimney loves to scratch if you look at it wrong!

I bought this hood last year, I still have LED light problem.. frist no technician and finally after months, technician came out and said he has no idea how to fix the LED Light which it stays on and he never return. It's so much hassle to just call coustomer service. I called at least 30 times with different person that I have to explain same thing over, how exhausting! I'll never buy kitchenaid product again.

Hood is amazing! There is not one cooking odor that escapes into my kitchen or any other part of my house. Frying onions is no challenge for this hood. Absolutely no onion smell in the house. I would highly recommend this hood.

Three Units, Three Non-Matching Product!

My builder has installed this along with the rest of my Black Stainless Kitchen-Aid Kitchen. The problem here is the Lower unit with the lights and fan does not match the upper hood section. The bottom is SEMI-GLOSS BLACK and the hood is STAINLESS BLACK. After THREE orders to rectify, all are the same. A Kitchen Aid Rep tells us there is an Internal problem that will not be solved until August 2018!!!! What a bunch of junk. If you advertise BLACK STAINLESS then have a matching set! So now I have a lower section installed with no upper section...looks like junk in my high end kitchen.

The good was purchased as part of a full kitchen package and we love the way it looks in the kitchen It is quite and was to use The only improvement I can suggest is acess to holes to fasten the top cover to the base and additional holes to mount to wall would be nice

Beautiful Hood

We purchased this hood to match with a number of other Kitchen Aid products for our remodel. Multi Speed powerful fan draws a significant distance. 2 tone lighting provides both ample light for cooking and backlighting to show off the backsplash.

bought mostly for the black stainless steel. the problem is the flat surface at the bottom; the large surface area causes the smoke/steam/cooking gas to condense very rapidly at the back(close to wall) before it has a chance to get to the vent (towards you).

Beware when installing Black Stainless

Looks like a fantastic unit but the instructions are lacking for a do it yourself install or pre planning. When installing they give no tips or tricks to remove the protective stainless steel plastic. I fact they don't make mention of it. If you remove the protective coating on the vent covering it will leave nasty scratched in the black stainless when you slide the two sections apart. So Beware!
